The Manila South Cemetery is a cemetery in Metro Manila. It is an exclave of San Andres, Manila surrounded by land under the jurisdiction of the city of Makati.The land which the cemetery occupies was previously part of the Hacienda San Pedro de Macati which was owned by the Ayala-Roxas-Zobel family. The land was then under the province of Rizal. The South Cemetery was legally acquired by Ordinance 726 and other actions taken by the Municipal Board and Mayor Zobel vs. City of Manila (1925).The cemetery, occupying an area of 25ha, has a maximum capacity of 52,234 graves. In June 30, 2007. a record of 266,170 burials were made in the cemetery.In All Saints' Day of 2015, it was a recorded that 32,000 people visited the cemetery.Notable burials Ramon Bagatsing, longest serving Mayor of Manila, survivor of the Plaza Miranda bombing Elpidio Quirino, former President of the Philippines (reinterred at the Libingan ng mga Bayani on Feb 29, 2016)
